Downtime minimization
Reduction of delivery time
Realization mechanism: Combination of four machining centers with one extra-power KUKA robot.
Process of implementation: on MERZ production site KUKA KR FORTEC F (a foundry shop) unites four machining centers, fills and empties changeable stations and ensures an optimal operation of machines. KUKA KR FORTEC F (a foundry shop) is transported on a KUKA KL 1500-3 18 meter long linear machine to serve four production systems installed next to each other. The task of the robot is to load and unload interchangeable stations, to which the pallets of the machine are fed with the appropriate workpieces and raw materials.
KUKA KR FORTEC F is a link between the machining centers, it automatically transfers machine pallets and pallets with raw materials between interchangeable stations, warehouses and machines. It allows to four machining centers to operate in completely automatic mode all around the clock. Automated system is integrated into the company’s internal information flows. This ensures that NC and tool data is automatically provided to the machines, that is a key factor in preventing unnecessary downtime and achieving maximum productivity.
