Robots have been already actively used in the world in the 70^th-80^th of the last century. Nowadays robotization takes over the food industry to gain the competitive advantages. There are still processes that can be carried out only by humans. But it’s about timing. Functions of machine vision or grippers with a delicate effect on products are being developed.

As experts predict, minimum 25% of all the production tasks in food industry will be performed by robots by 2025. Many companies develop robots for the food industry. Today the leader of this direction in Russia is the German concern KUKA.

Project Objective

Replacement of men in palletizing of 19-litres bottles of water to metallic or plastic pallet. Increase of productivity in water palletizing.

Project Tasks

Transportation of 19-litres bottles to the point of loading

Placement of 19-litres bottles to plastic and metallic bottlers with a cycle of 24 bottles per minute

Feed of empty pallets and removal of filled ones.

Equipment

Robotic complex is designed as a modern production line with 24/7 capacity. The basic element is a weigh-lifting industrial robot KUKA KR240 R2500 Prime with the special design of grippers for 4* 19-litres bottles.

Feed of bottles to robot, formation of a 4 bottles line for different pallets are automatic. An industrial robot puts every 4 bottles to a cell of pallet. Feed of empty pallets and removal of filled ones is automatically done with the transport system. The complex is equipped with a safety system, that prevents an unauthorized access to the area inside the fence.
